There are four main pieces of information we will need to determine a part number for your Motovario gearbox.

1) Case Size

  • Finding the CENTER DISTANCE.
  • Take the measurement of the distance between the center of the input bore and the center of the output, this is your center distance.

2) Input Measurements

  • Measure the outer diameter of the INPUT FLANGE. Please do not measure bolt holes.
  • Measure the inner diameter of the INPUT BORE. Please do not include the keyway.
  • **These measurements can either be Imperial or Metric, please take both measurements.

3) Ratio

  • The RATIO can be found on the unit’s name plate.
  • If your unit is missing the nameplate, you can still find the ratio.
  • On the output bore, mark where the key way is currently.
  • Now take the input bore and spin this however many times it takes for the output key way to move 1/4th the way around the circle. Make sure to count how many times you spin the input bore.
  • Take the number of spins from above and multiply that by four. This should be a fairly accurate number.

4) Output Measurement

  • Measure the inner diameter of the OUTPUT BORE. Please do not include the keyway.
  • **These measurements can either be Imperial or Metric, please take both measurements.
